RESOLUTION NO. 2011-740
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF WATERLOO
HOMECOMING ASSOCIATION (WHA) FOR VARIANCE TO
NOISE ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO. 3094.
WHEREAS, Waterloo Homecoming Association (WHA) is requesting
a variance to the Noise Ordinance on August 7, 2011 from 9:00
a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in conjunction with WHA 2011 Stone Soul Picnic
event to be held at Sullivan Park, including live performances
and the use of a PA system, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Noise
Ordinance, Ordinance No. 3094, and
WHEREAS, said WHA made formal application for a variance
effective August 7, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in
conjunction with WHA 2011 Stone Soul Picnic event to be held at
Sullivan Park, including live performances and the use of a PA
system, together with recommendation of approval of the Director
of Safety Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of WHA for a variance to
Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, on August 7, 2011 from 9:00
a.m, to 10:00 p.m. in conjunction with WHA 2011 Stone Soul Picnic
event to be held at Sullivan Park, including live performances
and the use of a PA system, be and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of August, 2011.
