RESOLUTION NO. 2024-428
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PETERSON
CONTRACTORS, INC., OF REINBECK, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $10,377,066.19, APPROVING THE CONTRACT,
BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2024 LA PORTE ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, IDOT AGREEMENT NO. HDP-
8155(787)--71-07, CONTRACT NO. 1016, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, submitted a bid
in conjunction with the FY 2024 La Porte Road Improvements Project, IDOT Agreement No.
HDP-8155(787)--71-07, Contract No. 1016, in the amount of $10,377,066.19, and is the
apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond, and
certificate of insurance, per city specifications, approved by resolution No. 2024-417 on July 15,
2024, in conjunction with the FY 2024 La Porte Road Improvements Project, IDOT Agreement
No. HDP-8155(787)--71-07, Contract No. 1016.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $10,377,066.19,
in conjunction with the FY 2024 La Porte Road Improvements Project, IDOT Agreement No.
HDP-8155(787)--71-07, Contract No. 1016, is hereby accepted and awarded to Peterson
Contractors, Inc.
2. That the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance submitted by Peterson
Contractors, Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2024 La Porte Road Improvements Project, IDOT
Agreement No. HDP-8155(787)--71-07, Contract No. 1016, are hereby approved, and the Mayor
and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of July 2024.
