RON The City of Waterloo is seeking bids for remodeling the evidence storage area in the
`WETTER Waterloo Police Department located in Waterloo City Hall.

At-Large 1. Remove walls as oul:lined on Sheet I-D of the attached set of plans.

GUNDERSON 2. Remove restroom and fixtures as shown on Sheet I-D.
At-Large ➢ Cap or remove all plumbing related to restroom area.
➢ Contractor is responsible to discard old fixtures.
3. Remove old air handling unit as shown on Sheet I-D.
➢ Cap all necessary supply and return piping.
➢ Remove any electrical connections to junction boxes.
4. Remove radiant heat on wall.
5. Remove door 7 with frame.
6. The contractor is responsible to provide all equipment, supplies and
containers during the demolition process.

7. The Police Department is a 24/7 operation; therefore, the contractor is
responsible to coordinate all activity with police personnel.
8. Evidence security is very important. The contractor will build a temporary
security wall after police personnel have created a four-foot space as noted •
on plans. (Sheet I-D)
9. The contractor is responsible to provide all labor and material to provide the
following.
a. Construct walls as outlined on print I-B.
b. Finish all surfaces and paint color by owner.
c. Install hand sink in location as shown on print I-B.
d. Provide security hardware for door#9 with installation.
e. Windows 1 and 2: frame in and cover with IA" plywood
painted to match exterior color when viewed from the outside.
f. Provide lighting for new space created in evidence room
• (4)--4' x 2' surface-mounted four-bulb fixtures, with
wiring to existing switch.
g. Patch ceiling as needed.
BIDDING REQUIREMENTS:
1. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at 1:00 p.m.
at City Hall, First Floor Conference Room.
2. Bids will be due Monday, February 11, 2008, on or before 3:00 P.M. in the
City Clerk's Office, First Floor of City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street, Waterloo, IA
50703.
3. Only sealed bids will be accepted.
4. A five percent (5%) bid bond shall accompany the bid in a separate
envelope.

5. The outside of the bid enveloped shall be carefully marked "EVIDENCE
STORAGE REMODEL".
6. Bids will be opened at the City Council meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday,
February 11, 2008.
7. Project will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder.
8. Project will be awarded Monday, February, 18, 2008.
9. Notice to Proceed will be issued Tuesday, February 19, 2007.
10.Completion date shall be Monday, March 31, 2008.
BONDS:
1. A five percent (5%) bid bond will be required to accompany the bid.
2. No payment/performance bond will be required.
PAYMENT:
1. All payments will be subject to five percent (5%) retainage.
2. Payment will be made within thirty (30) days after receipt of invoice.
3. Retainage will be paid out within thirty (30) days after project acceptance.
