Section 2 Description of Services 2.1 Goals and Objectives The primary objective of this proposal is to demonstrate the proof of concept (POC) of serving applications hosted from the Waterloo Police Department to users at home as well as patrol cars in the field using various wireless internet providers. This proof of concept will demonstrate that these remote home users and patrol cars will be able to successfully access and run all applications. If successful, this solution will provide the remote users with robust application performance from a various number of internet access methods and from a various number of locations. 2.2 Scope ACES will procure and configure a server to deploy as an application server running Citrix Presentation Server and a Citrix Access Gateway (CAG) as a proof-of-concept (POC). POC server will be configured to run the applications hosted from Waterloo Police Department's station to which remote home users and officers on patrol would need access (list of applications to be provided by the Waterloo Police Department). POC server will be installed in Waterloo Police Department's Data Center. ACES will work with three motile patrol units with three different mobile internet access methods provided by the Waterloo Police Department and 1 home user with broadband Internet Access in setting up and testing Remote Access to the POC Server. Estimated costs for complete rollout is$70,000-$85,000 for the Waterloo Police Advanced Computer Engineering Solutions- CONFIDENTIAL Page 1 data center including POC(not including MRC's such as Internet access costs in the patrol cars and homes, desktops or thin client appliances).
