BRIEF PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Outline a brief paragraph describing the project, including its name, vertical infrastructure
components, and anticipated uses. State anticipated start and completion dates. If this project
is a phase of a larger project, please state its relationship to that project.
The Mark's Park and Performance Structure project creates two unique spaces on the
banks of the Cedar River in downtown Waterloo. Mark's Park will be a 4,200 square foot
family-friendly urban park with play equipment and splash features overlooking the
Cedar River. The Performance Structure will turn a planned 15,000 square foot
Amphitheatre area into a true stage for concerts, shows, and exhibitions by providing a
stage structure, lighting, and backdrop. These two elements have been added to the
original River Renaissance project currently being implemented in Waterloo.
The anticipated start date for the project is August, 2009, with completion planned for
December, 2010.
