CAROLYN Attached is a modified Agreement for Engineering Services with Snyder&Associates,Inc.,of Cedar
COLE Rapids,Iowa,to provide professional services for the design of the Ridgeway Avenue/La Porte Road
TA5 rd 2 Connection. The original agreement was approved for a maximum amount payable of$49,308.00 at the
November 23rd council meeting.
HAROLD
GETTY The agreement has been modified as a result of a Department of Transportation pre-audit and there was a
Ward`' cost exception found that amounted to a decrease amount of$2,336.00. Therefore,the modified
maximum amount payable is now$46,972.00.
QUENTIN M.
HART This federal-aid project includes the removal of an exit ramp(southbound La Porte to Ridgeway)and the
Ward 4
construction of a T-intersection connecting Ridgeway Avenue to La Porte Road to facilitate access to the
RON future construction of a new fire station.
WELTER
Ward.5 Services provided under this agreement include topographic surveying and base mapping,traffic analysis,
concept evaluation,preliminary design, final design,preparation of cost estimates,preliminary plans,
BOB check plans,and final plans as required for Iowa Department of Transportation lettings,plan clarification
GREENWOOD and addenda,and project administration.
At-Large
This is a cost plus fixed fee agreement for an amount not to exceed$46,972.00. Work under this
STEVE agreement is eligible for federal-aid reimbursement. The City match is twenty percent and would not
SCHMITT exceed$9,394.40 and would be paid out of Local Option Sales Tax revenue.
At-Large
Staff has reviewed this modified agreement and recommends the City Council approve this document and
authorize the Mayor to sign and enter into this Agreement.

RESOLUTION A]?PROVING MODIFIED AGREEMENT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WITH SNYDER &
ASSOCIATES OF ANKENY, IOWA, AND DIRECTING
EXECUTION OF SAID AGREEMENT BY MAYOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that the modified agreement dated December 21, 2009, at a cost
not to exceed $46, 972 . 00 , with 20 percent city match not to
exceed $9, 394 . 40, for professional services in conjunction with
the F.Y. 2010 Ridgeway Avenue and LaPorte Road Connection,
Contract No. 775, by and between Snyder & Associates of Ankeny,
Iowa and the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be and the same is hereby
approved, and the Mayor and Deputy City Clerk authorized to
execute the same in behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of December, 2009 .
