AN ORDINANCE DIVIDING THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA, INTO WARDS AND PRECINCTS, AND REPEALING
CERTAIN ORDINANCES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
Section 1 . REPEALING. That Ordinance No. 2597, 2784, 2791 , 2601 ,
and all other ordinances, or parts thereof of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 2. WARDS. That the territory embraced within the city limits
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, be divided into five (5) wards, to be
called the First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth Wards, theboundaries
of said wards are hereby established and defined and set out in Sections
2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of this ordinance.
Section 3. FIRST WARD. That the First Ward shall be all the territory
within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, hereinafter described
as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the westerly city limits boundary
line and University Avenue and proceeding southeasterly along University
Avenue to Fletcher Avenue, and proceeding south along Fletcher Avenue
to Summit Avenue extended, and proceeding east along Summit Avenue
extended and Summit Avenue to Moir Street, and proceeding south along
Moir Street to Reber Avenue, and proceeding east along Reber Avenue
to Sullivan Avenue, and proceeding south along Sullivan Avenue to
West Fourth Street, and proceeding southwesterly along West Fourth
Street to Hampshire Road, and proceeding south along Hampshire Road
to Berkshire Road, and proceeding east along Berkshire Road to Sheridan
Road, and proceeding south along Sheridan Road to West Ridgeway
Avenue, and proceeding east along West Ridgeway Avenue to Hillcrest
Road, and proceeding north along Hillcrest Road to Midlothian
Boulevard, and proceeding easterly along Midlothian Boulevard
to Ivanhoe Road; and proceeding east along Ivanhoe Road to Kimball
Avenue, and proceeding south along Kimball Avenue to East San Marnan Drive,
proceeding east along East San Marnan Drive to Hawkeye Road,
and proceeding south along Hawkeye Road to the city limits boundary
line and proceeding in a clock-wise direction along the city limits
boundary line to the point of beginning.
Section 4. SECOND WARD. That the Second Ward shall be all the territory
within the city limits of the City of Waterloo Iowa, described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Kimball
Avenue and proceeding south along Kimball Avenue to Forest Avenue,
and proceeding east along Forest Avenue to Vermont Street, and
proceeding south along Vermont Street to Hawthorne Avenue, and
proceeding east along Hawthorne Avenue to West Sixth Street, and proceeding
north along West Sixth Street to Forest Avenue, and proceeding east
along Forest Avenue to West Ninth Street, and proceeding south along
West Ninth Street to Mitchell Avenue, and proceeding east along
Mitchell Avenue to Ohio Street, and proceeding south along Ohio
Street to East Ridgeway Avenue, and proceeding east along East
Ridgeway Avenue and East Ridgeway Avenue extended to the centerline
of the Cedar River, and proceeding in a clock-wise direction along
the centerline of the Cedar River to the city limits boundary line,

East Airline Highway and proceeding west along East Airline Highway
to Logan Avenue, and proceeding south along Logan Avenue to Parker
Avenue, and proceeding southerly along Mullan Avenue to the westerly
extension of Walnut Street, and proceeding easterly along Walnut Street
extended and Walnut Street to East Park Avenue, and proceeding southwesterly
along East Park Avenue to the centerline of Cedar River, and proceeding
northwesterly along the centerline of Cedar River to Conger Street,
and proceeding southwesterly along Conger Street to Westfield Avenue,
and proceeding southerly along Westfield Avenue to Cleveland Street,
and proceeding southerly along Cleveland Street to Main Street,
and proceeding northwesterly along Main Street to Upton Avenue,
and proceeding westerly along Upton Avenue to Ansborough Avenue, and

Section 6. FOURTH WARD. That the Fourth Ward shall be all the territory
within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of East Airline Highway and the
city limits boundary line and proceeding in a clock-wise direction
along the city limits boundary line to the centerline of the Cedar River,
and proceeding northwesterly along the centerline of the Cedar River to
East Park Avenue, and proceeding northeasterly along East Park
Avenue to Walnut Street, and proceeding northwesterly along
Walnut Street and Walnut Street extended to Mullan Avenue, and
proceeding northerly along Mullan Avenue to Logan Avenue, and
proceeding north along Logan Avenue to East Airline Highway,
and proceeding east along East Airline Highway to the point
of beginning.

Section 7. FIFTH WARD. That the Fifth Ward shall be all the territory
within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, described as follows:

extended, and proceeding west, along East Ridgeway Avenue extended and

the 4th precinct of the 1st ward, the 5th precinct of the 1st ward, the
6th precinct of the 1st ward, the 7th precinct of the 1st ward, the 8th
precinct of the 1st ward; the 1st precinct of the 2nd ward, the 2nd pre-
cinct of the 2nd ward, the 3rd precinct of the 2nd ward, the 4th precinct
of the 2nd ward, the 5th precinct of the 2nd ward, the 6th precinct of the
2nd ward, the 7th precinct of the 2nd ward, the 8th precinct of the 2nd ward;
the 1st precinct of the 3rd ward, the 2nd precinct of the 3rd precinct,

and Hammond Avenue, and proceeding east along East Ridgeway
Avenue and continuing east along East Ridgeway Avenue extended
to the centerline of the Cedar River, and proceeding in a clock-

Section 48. 8TH OF THE FIFTH. The 8th precinct of the 5th ward shall
embrace the territory within the city limits of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of West Eighteenth Street and the
centerline of the Cedar River, and proceeding in a clock-wise
direction along the centerline of the Cedar River to East
Ridgeway Avenue extended, and proceeding west along East Ridgeway
Avenue extended and East Ridgeway Avenue to Ohio Street, and
proceeding north along Ohio Street to Byron Avenue, and proceeding westerly
along Byron Avenue to Ohio Street, and proceeding northerly along
Ohio Street C,u Washington Street, and proceeding northwesterly along
Washington Street to Williston Avenue, and proceeding easterly along
Williston Avenue to West Eighteenth Street, and proceeding north-
easterly along West Eighteenth Street to the point of beginning.
Section 49. REGISTRATION LISTS. The Commissioner of Registration
is hereby directed to change the registration lists accordingly.
Section 50. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be enforced in effect
after the same has been passed and published as provided by law.
