AN ORDINANCE oF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, DESIGNATED AS THE UNIFORU BUILDING CODE, 1979 Eu4;-em, Ay PUbLISHEI) IN 1979 BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS, WHICH REGULATES THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, DEMO- LITION, CONVERSION, OCCUPANCY, EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA, AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL BUILDINGS AND/OR STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; REPEALING IN ITS ENTIRETY TABLE NO. 3-A, BUILDING PERMIT FEES, OF CHAPTER 3, AND ADOPTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW TABLE NO. 3-A, BUILDING PERMIT FEES; REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 2696 AND SECTION 9-5 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,RLOO, IOWA, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA: Section 1. That a certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clark of the City of Waterloo, Iowa; being narked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition, published in 1979 by The International Conference of Building Officiale", be and the same is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, for regulating the erection, construction, en- largement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, demolition, converei:r.n, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the City of Waterloo, Iowa; providing for issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; providing penalties for violation of such Coda ; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of such "Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition, published in 1979 by The International Conference of Building Officials", on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Ordinance. Section 2. The U.B.C. Standards which are referred to in various parts of this Ordinance shall be the Uniform Building Code Standards, 1979 Edition, and are hereby declared to be a part of this Ordinance. Section 3. That Ordinance No. 2696 entitled "Uniform Building Code of 1973, City of Waterloo, Iowa", and Section 9-5 of Chapter 9 entitled "Fire Zone Established", and all other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4. That Table No. 3-A, Building Permit Fees of Chapter 3 of the 1979 Edition of the Uniform Building Code is hereby repealed in its entirety. Section 5. That this new Table No. 3-A, Building Permit Fees, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof. Table No. 3-A - Building Permit Fees Total Valuation Fee 1.00 to $ 500.00 $ 15.00 $ 501.00 to $ 2,000.00 $ 15.00 for the first $500.00, plus $3.00 for each additional $100.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $2,000.00.$ 2,001.00 to $ 25,000.00 $ 60.00 for the first $2,000.00, plus $5.00 for each additional $1 ,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $15,000.00. $ 25,001.00 to $ 50,000.00 $175.00 for the first $25,000.00, plies $3.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000.00. $ 50,001.00 to $100,000.00 $250.00 for the first $50,000.00, plus $2.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000.00. $100,001.00 and up $350.00 for the first $100,000.00, plus $1.50 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof. :,JJ` 235 DICE 402 Section 6. Any construction job bid prior to the affective date of this Ordinance shall carry the Building Permit Fee in affect at the time of the bid, but in no case shall this Section be effective beyond sixty (60) days of the publication of this Ord inance. Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published. Section 8. This Ordinance shall become effective on and after the first working day after its publication as required by the laws of this City and State.
