HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-021-01.13.1986 RESOLUTION NO. 1986-21 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR RISE FUNDING MR THE MARTIN ROAD PAVING PROJECT AND ENDORSING THE MARTIN ROAD PAVING PROJECT, AND WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa for a number of years, recognized a need for paving Martin Road, to encourage industrial ca 4 development, and WHEREAS, the need for said improvement is yet unmet and the 1-1 City of Waterloo endorses the paving of Martin Road. o WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo certifies that the roadway will ti c1, be dedicated to public use andwill continue to be dedicated to public F-i `: use after said improvements are made, and y I-. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo will have jurisdictional :' cr ?;- responsibility for the improved roadway and will adequately maintain said improvement, and c� WHEREAS, it is necesary for the City of Waterloo to obtain additional financing for the improvements to Martin Road and RISE funds s ; are available to request for such purposes, and owe '~ s G' WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Waterloo to submit an e application for RISE funds to provide a grant of 80% of the construction cost to pave Martin Road, with the remaining 20% to be raised through the issue of a general obligation bond. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa that the City endorses the Martin Road Paving Project; and that the roadway is and will be dedicated to public use and, adequately maintained; and further be it resolved that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to submit an application for RISE funds from the Iowa Department of Transportation in the form of an 80% grant.
