THE CITY OF WATERLOO, BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA

'' 'WHEREAS, the Urban Revitalization Act adopted by the Iowa
legislature allows the designation of Urban Revitalization Districts by
municipalities, and
r4 WHEREAS, improvements to qualified real estate within the
designated area are eligible for a property tax exemption, and
rrr, WHEREAS, the area being proposed as a revitalization district
4. meets_ the criteria as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act, and

E WHEREAS, the designation of the area will promote the public
Qti alth, safety, and welfare of the community.
2r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, that authorization be given for the necessary support
to be researched for the following geographical area:
The Black Hawk Street Urban Revitalization Area will legally
be described as the area beginning at the intersection of
Bluff Street and West Eleventh Street, hence northeast via
West Eleventh Street to the flood control levee, hence
easterly via the flood control levee to the intersection
of West Eighteenth Street, hence southwest via West Eighteenth
Street to the intersection of Bluff Street, hence northwest
via Bluff Street to the said beginning point, all in the
City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa,
for its future designation as an Urban Revitalization District.
Passed and adopted this 21st day of July, 1986.
