HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-466-08.04.1986 RESOLUTION NO. 1986-466 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN EXCESS PROPERTY TO BLACK HAWK COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK/AUDITOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A DEED FOR SAME WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of real property in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as described below, All that part of Lot 3, Block 3, and Lot 3, Block 4, in Cotton's Addition and all that part of vacated Indiana Street, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, lying within the following described boundary: Beginning at the northwest corner of said Lot 3, Block 3; thence east to the northeast corner of said Lot 3, Block 4; thence south along the east line of Lot 3 in said Block 4 a distance of 15.0 feet; thence southwesterly to a point on the west line of Lot 3 in said Block 4, which point is 45.0 feet south of the northwest corner of Lot 3 in said Block 4; thence southwesterly to a point on the east line of Lot 3 in said Block 3, which point is 73.0 feet south of the northeast corner of Lot 3 in said Block 3; thence west parallel with the north line of Lot 3 in said Block 3 to the west line of Lot 3 in said Block 3; thence north to the point of beginning. Containing approximately 17,422 sq. ft. and, WHEREAS, Black Hawk Economic Development Committee desires said parcel of real property. WHEREAS, a public hearing was held August 4, 1986 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on proposal to convey premises owned by the City of Waterloo, Iowa to Black Hawk County Economic Development Committee. WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and conveyance should be made as proposed. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA AS FOLLOWS: 1. The following described real property, as fully described in the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on July 18, 1986, is not presently needed and will not be needed in the foreseeable future for municipal purposes and its ownerhsip is serving no municipal purpose, and 2. That it is hereby accepted for real property described below as excess right-of-way. 3. That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said parcel of real property to Black Hawk County Economic Development Committee. -2- c' `T"� 4. That the Mayor and Clerk/Auditor are hereby authorized to execute and deliver the deed to Black Hawk Economic Development - Committee. CV - 5.
