RESOLUTION NO. 2024-595
RESOLUTION CONFIRMING APPROVAL OF PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC., AND
AUTHORIZING TO PROCEED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES, CONTRACT NO. AB-
2024-09-07P.
WHEREAS, there is a critical need for asbestos abatement services to ensure the safety
and compliance of the designated facility or area within the jurisdiction of Waterloo, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has prepared comprehensive plans, specifications, and
a contract form for the asbestos abatement services project designated as Contract No. AB-2024-
09-07P; and
WHEREAS, these plans and specifications have been developed to meet all local and
state regulations ensuring that the project will be executed according to safety and environmental
standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The plans, specifications, and form of contract for the asbestos abatement services as
set forth in Contract No. AB-2024-09-07P are hereby approved.
2. The Planning and Zoning Department is authorized to proceed with the asbestos
abatement services project, including overseeing bid activities and contracting per the approved
specifications.
3. The Planning and Zoning Department will ensure all bids adhere to the approved plans
and that the contractor selects acts within specified regulations to mitigate any associated health
risks.
4. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
