RESOLUTION NO. 2024-596
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO
ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL, INC. OF WATERLOO,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,700.00, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SERVICES, CONTRACT
NO. AB-2024-07-08P, FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 1335
MULBERRY STREET, 724 LINCOLN STREET, 418 OAK
AVENUE, 110 CHESTNUT STREET, 318 BRATNOBER
STREET, 309 E. 2ND STREET, AND 1103 COMMERCIAL
STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified the need for asbestos abatement services
for several city properties, thus ensuring safety and health for the community; and
WHEREAS, bids for Contract No. AB-2024-07-08P have been duly solicited for asbestos
abatement services, per the city's procurement policies and in compliance with Iowa state
regulations; and
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental, Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid clearly
detailing the capability and readiness to perform the required services for the properties located
at 1335 Mulberry Street, 724 Lincoln Street, 418 Oak Avenue, 110 Chestnut Street, 318
Bratnober Street, 309 E. 2nd Street, and 1103 Commercial Street; and
WHEREAS, Advanced Environmental, Inc. was determined to offer the best value for
the project, providing proper expertise and competitive pricing, with the total bid amounting to
$28,700.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by Advanced Environmental, Inc. is hereby accepted.
2. The contract for asbestos abatement services, Contract No. AB-2024-07-08P, is
awarded to Advanced Environmental, Inc. in the amount of $28,700.00.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all necessary
documents to formalize the contract and initiate project commencement.
4. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
