RESOLUTION NO. 2024-598
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO SHIFT
GENERAL CONTRACTING, OF CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $349,172.14. IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE FY 2025 MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DRIVE
WETLAND A RESTORATION, CONTRACT NO. 1109.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has initiated the FY 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr.
Drive Wetland A Restoration project, aiming to enhance local ecological conditions and improve
community green spaces; and
WHEREAS, bids for Contract No. 1109 were solicited following the city's
comprehensive procurement policies and adherence to state regulatory requirements, to ensure
transparency and competitiveness; and
WHEREAS, several qualified bids were received, and duly evaluated on the basis of cost,
expertise, timeline, and capability to successfully execute the project specifications; and
WHEREAS, Shift General Contracting, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been selected as the
preferred bidder, having proposed a comprehensive plan and a bid amounting to $349,172.14,
providing both exemplary value and technical proficiency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by Shift General Contracting is hereby accepted.
2. Contract No. 1109 for the FY 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Wetland A
Restoration project is awarded to Shift General Contracting in the amount of $349,172.14.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all necessary
documents to formalize the contract and initiate project commencement.
4. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
