RESOLUTION NO. 2024-585
RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, BID DOCUMENTS, ETC., SETTING DATE
OF BID OPENING AS OCTOBER 17, 2024, AND DATE OF
PUBLIC HEARING AS OCTOBER 21, 2024, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE WATERLOO FIRE RESCUE
TURNOUT GEAR REPLACEMENT PROJECT, AND
INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH THE NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo recognizes the necessity to ensure the safety and
operational effectiveness of its Fire Rescue Department; and
WHEREAS, the existing turnout gear has been assessed and is in need of replacement to
meet current safety and compliance standards; and
WHEREAS, preliminary plans, specifications, bid documents, etc., for the procurement
of replacement turnout gear have been prepared and reviewed by the Waterloo Fire Rescue
Department; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The preliminary plans, specifications, and bid documents for the replacement of
turnout gear are hereby approved.
2. Waterloo Fire Rescue is authorized to proceed with the bid process in accordance with
city procurement policies.
3. The funds expended for this purchase shall be sourced from bond proceeds.
4. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
