RESOLUTION NO. 2024-587
RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE OF THE PUBLIC
HEARING AS OCTOBER 21, 2024, TO APPROVE A
REQUEST BY DAVID R. AND MARY H. ALDERMAN FOR
THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 1,250
SQUARE FEET OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED
ADJACENT TO 4805 EDGEBROOK DRIVE FOR $1.00,
INCLUDING A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT, AND
INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, David R. and Mary H. Alderman have requested the sale and conveyance of
approximately 1,250 square feet of city -owned property located adjacent to 4805 Edgebrook
Drive; and
WHEREAS, such conveyance includes the terms of a Development Agreement to be
entered into by the interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the proposed sale price for the property is set at $1.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, shall meet in the Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers at City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, at 5:30 p.m. on the 21' day of October 2024, to hold a
public hearing for the above -mentioned sale and conveyance.
2. During the public hearing, interested parties may express their views regarding the
proposed transaction.
3. The Planning and Zoning Department is hereby authorized and directed to prepare any
necessary documentation, including but not limited to the Development Agreement, in
connection with the proposed sale and conveyance.
4. The sale and conveyance are contingent upon the acceptance of the Development
Agreement by both the City and David R. and Mary H. Alderman, which outlines the terms and
conditions associated with the transaction.
5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with the legal requirements outlined in Iowa Code Section 362.3.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of October 2024.
