RESOLUTION NO. 2024-589
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXCEPTION TO THE
CITY OF WATERLOO PURCHASING POLICY FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE FORD F-550 171" SUPERLINER TYPE I
AMBULANCE, IN THE AMOUNT OF $301,401.00, THROUGH
THE HGACBUY COOPERATIVE PROGRAM, FOR THE
AMBULANCE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Ambulance Department has identified the need for a new Ford F-550
171" Superliner Type I Ambulance to enhance operational capabilities and meet community
needs; and
WHEREAS, the purchase price for the specified ambulance is $301,401.00; and
WHEREAS, the HGACBuy Cooperative Program offers competitive pricing through
group purchasing advantages, which may provide better cost -efficiency for the City; and
WHEREAS, standard procurement protocols require an exception due to circumstances
such as time constraints, availability of specific vehicle types, or cost benefits, necessitating
prompt procurement through the cooperative program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. An exception to the standard purchasing policy is hereby authorized for the purchase
of one Ford F-550 171" Superliner Type I Ambulance in the amount of $301,401.00 through the
HGACBuy Cooperative Program.
2. The funds expended for this purchase shall be sourced from the designated budget
allocations for the Ambulance Department.
3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
