RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ABATEMENT OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY TAXES ON FORMER RATH PACKING COMPANY
PROPERTY.
-WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has acquired the former Rath
Pack-i gCompany property located on the southeast corner of 18th Street
and Syc pore through bankruptcy and eventual sale of said property.
WHEREAS, there is due and owing real and personal property taxes
in the amount of $686,379.00.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has been notified by the County
' Treasurer' s Office that said property taxes are now due and owing by
C.ity of Waterloo according to Chapter 446.7 of the Code of Iowa.
o `WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City of Waterloo, owner of the
-forme Rath Packing Company property, not to pay the past property
` taxes .in the amount of $686,379.00 to Black Hawk County.

`ctha ` .he Board of Supervisors are requested to act in accordance with
Sectin 446.7 of the Code of Iowa (1985) and that the property taxes
as set forth below, be abated for the property owned by the City of
Waterloo and formerly occupied by the Rath Packing Company.
