RESOLUTION NO. 2024-628
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST BY DAVID R.
AND MARY H. ALDERMAN FOR THE SALE AND
CONVEYANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 1,250 SQUARE FEET
OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED ADJACENT TO
4805 EDGEBROOK DRIVE FOR $1.00, INCLUDING A
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT TO CONSTRUCT A NEW
SIDEWALK AT A VALUE OF $1,235.00, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, David R. and Mary H. Alderman have requested the purchase and
conveyance of a city-owned parcel totaling approximately 1,250 square feet adjacent to their
property at 4805 Edgebrook Drive; and
WHEREAS, the agreed-upon sale price for the parcel is $1.00, contingent upon a
Development Agreement whereby the Alderman's commit to construct a sidewalk with a value
of$1,235.00; and
WHEREAS, this transaction promotes local property enhancement and maintains
compliance with municipal development priorities and community infrastructure improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The sale and conveyance of the approximate 1,250 square feet of city-owned property
to David R. and Mary H. Alderman for the nominal sum of$1.00 is approved, in accordance
with the terms and conditions of the Development Agreement.
2. The Development Agreement,requiring the Alderman's to construct a sidewalk valued
at $1,235.00, is accepted as outlined and forms part of the sale conditions.
3. The administration and execution of this project shall be overseen in accordance with
city procurement guidelines and best practices to ensure quality outcomes and transparency.
4. The Planning and Zoning Department shall ensure that the execution follows all
applicable legal and regulatory standards, and will monitor the sidewalk construction under the
terms of the Development Agreement.
5. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute all necessary
documents and agreements related to this transaction on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
6. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
