RESOLUTION NO. 2024-635
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
RAISE GRANT AGREEMENT, WITH THE US DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LA
PORTE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS FROM SHAULIS ROAD TO
BYRON AVENUE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has previously entered into a RAISE Grant Agreement
with the US Department of Transportation on May 13, 2024, to secure funding for the
improvements of La Porte Road from Shaulis Road to Byron Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 to this reflects the selection of the Recipient, the Iowa
Department of Transportation (IDOT), to receive a RAISE Grant for the La Porte Road
Revitalization; and
WHEREAS Amendment No. 1 to the RAISE Grant Agreement has been prepared
outlining these changes, reviewed, and deemed as beneficial for the successful completion of the
project within its stipulated parameters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That Amendment No. 1 to the RAISE Grant Agreement with the U.S. Department of
Transportation for the improvement of La Porte Road is hereby approved.
2. That the Mayor of Waterloo is authorized and directed to execute said Amendment No.
1 on behalf of the City of Waterloo.
3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
