RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
NOVEMBER 18, 2024, TO APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO
THE RATH URBAN RENEWAL AND REDEVELOPMENT
PLAN, TO UPDATE PROJECTS AND PROJECT BUDGETS
TO BE INCLUDED IN THE PLAN, AND OTHER GENERAL
UPDATES TO THE PLAN, AND SETTING DATE OF
CONSULTATION WITH TAXING ENTITIES AS NOVEMBER
1, 2024, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH
NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo aims to amend the Rath Urban Renewal and
Redevelopment Plan to reflect updated projects, budgets, and other significant elements vital for
effective urban development; and
WHEREAS, proper consultation with relevant taxing entities is crucial to ensure
transparency and coordination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, shall meet in the Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers at City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, at 5:30 p.m. on the 18th day of November 2024, to hold a
public hearing to discuss the proposed changes and gather input to amend the Rath Urban
Renewal and Redevelopment Plan.
2. A consultation meeting with relevant taxing entities will be held on November 1, 2024,
to discuss the proposed changes and gather input.
3. The amendment will include updates to development projects, revisions to project
budgets, and adjustments for comprehensive improvements to better align with the city's urban
renewal goals.
4. This resolution authorizes the necessary logistics and communications as per legal
mandates for local governance and urban planning procedures.
5. The City Clerk is instructed to publish notice of both the public hearing and the
consultation in accordance with statutory requirements to ensure adequate public awareness and
legal compliance.
