RESOLUTION NO. 2024-623
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE WITH SHIFT GENERAL
CONTRACTING, OF CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2025 MARTIN LUTHER
KING, JR. DRIVE WETLAND A RESTORATION PROJECT,
CONTRACT NO. 1109, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified the need for the FY 2025 Martin Luther
King, Jr. Drive Wetland A Restoration project to enhance environmental and community
benefits; and
WHEREAS, Shift General Contracting, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was awarded the bid for
the FY 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive Wetland A Restoration Project, Contract No. 1109;
and
WHEREAS, the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance provided by Shift General
Contracting meet the city's standards and requirements for municipal projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The contract, performance and payment bonds, and certificate of insurance furnished
by Shift General Contracting are hereby approved for the FY 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
Wetland A Restoration Project.
2. The Engineering Department must coordinate with Shift General Contracting to
guarantee adherence to project schedules, standards, and budgets, while fulfilling the restoration
objectives effectively.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of October 2024.
