RESOLUTION NO. 2024-624
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SALE OF USED
EQUIPMENT FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
VIA THE PURPLEWAVE WEBSITE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo Public Works Department has accumulated various
used equipment items that are no longer required for municipal operations; and
WHEREAS, the sale of such equipment is deemed financially prudent and aligns with the
city's asset management and sustainability initiatives; and
WHEREAS, PurpleWave, an online auction service, offers a strategic platform for
disposing of municipal equipment efficiently and transparently.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council approves the sale of used equipment from the Public Works
Department through the PurpleWave website, ensuring a fair market process and competitive
bidding environment.
2. The Public Works Department is authorized to coordinate with PurpleWave for auction
logistics, listings, and any necessary actions to facilitate the sale.
3. Funds generated from the sale of this equipment shall be allocated in accordance with
city financial policies and strategic reinvestment into public works or related municipal needs.
