T WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. 3445 adopted by the Waterloo
City Council on August 4, 1986, the LaPorte Road frontage road
o between Lorraine Avenue and Cornwall Avenue was vacated and sold,
' and

WHEREAS, said vacated and sold property was incorporated
into the site development plan for the Aldi Food and Back Alley
c Printers, and
WHEREAS, a safety concern has been expressed due to the now
existing traffic pattern in this area, and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property adjacent to the frontage
road between Easton and Lorraine Avenues (former Burger King) has
voiced no objection to the temporary closure of the frontage road
as long as said property is not being developed, and
WHEREAS, said property owner adjacent to the frontage road
between Easton and Lorraine Avenues has agreed to notify the City
in writing thirty (30) days before said frontage road must be
opened to traffic for development purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, that a temporary closure of the LaPorte
Road frontage road between Easton Avenue and Lorraine Avenue be
and the same hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, that the Street Department be instructed to place
two (2) Type Three barricades and snow fence at the Easton and
Lorraine Avenue ends of said frontage road.
Passed and adopted this 23rd day of February, 1987.
