RESOLUTION TO REFRAIN FROM ENFORCING COLLECTION OF
FEDERAL GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS USED FOR
ELLIS HOTEL DEMOLITION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
approved the use of $15,000 of Federal General Revenue Sharing Funds
to assist in the Ellis Hotel Demolition in Resolution No. 1986-660 on
or about the 24th day of November, 1986, and,
WHEREAS, $10,000 of the approved $15,000 was used for said
demolition and, therefore the City could file a lien against the real
estate, and
': T ~ WHEREAS, a request has been made to the City Council of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa by Siberts-Unique Cleaners to refrain from
e enforcing the lien in order to enable Siberts-Unique Cleaners to
..; purchase the real estate for purposes of economic development.

`; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City
c of Waterloo, Iowa that the City hereby declares its intent to abandon
any and all right, title and interest in the $10,000 and,
furthermore, to refrain from legally enforcing a lien against the
real estate legally described as:

m A part of Lot No. Three (3), in Block No. Fifteen (15) in the
�' R- Original Plat, on the East Side of the Cedar River, in the
o F City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, described as
follows:

Commencing at the most Westerly corner of said Lot No. Three
(3) ; running thence Northeasterly along the Northwesterly line
of said Lot a distance of Thirty-five and Sixty-six Hundredths
(35.66) feet: thence Southeasterly along the Northeasterly
face of the brick wall a distance of Forty-eight and
Forty-eight Hundredths (48.48) feet; thence Northeasterly
along an offset in said wall a distance of Seventy-five
Hundredths ( .75) feet; thence Southeasterly along the
Northeasterly face of said brick wall and as said wall is
extended, a distance of Twenty and Eighty-two Hundredths
(20.82) feet: thence Southwesterly along the Southeasterly
line of the Northwesterly Sixty-nine and Three Tenths (69.3)
feet of said Lot a distance of Thirty-six and Sixty-three
Hundredths (36.63) feet to the Southwesterly line of said Lot;
thence Northwesterly along the Southwesterly line of said Lot
a distance of Sixty-nine and Three Tenths (69.3) feet to the
point of beginning.
ALSO
The Northeasterly Ten (10) feet of Lot No. Five (5): all of
Lot No. Six (6) ; the Northwesterly One Hundred Sixteen (116)
feet of Lots Nos. Seven (7) and Ten (10) and the Northeasterly
Ten (10) feet of the Southeasterly Thirty-four (34) feet of
Lot No. Seven (7) all in Block No. Fifteen (15) in the
Original plat, on the East Side of the Cedar River, in the
City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa:
commonly known as the former Ellis Hotel in Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa.
