HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-185-05.04.1987 RESOLUTION NO. 1987-185 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF HOMES LOCATED AT 3100 ANSBOROUGH, 3026 ANSBOROUGH AND 322 DEVONSHIRE AND GARAGES LOCATED AT 3026 ANSBOROUGH, 2640 ANSBOROUGH, 2636 ANSBOROUGH AND 1946 ANSBOROUGH, AND AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING, PROGRAMMING AND ZONING STAFF TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER BILLS OF SALE FOR SAME. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of homes located upon real property located at 3100 Ansborough, 3026 Ansborough and 322 Devonshire and garages located upon real property located at 3026 Ansborough, 2640 Ansborough, 2636 Ansborough and 1946 Ansborough, City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, and WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, intends to sell and convey said structures and cause them to be removed from the site in accordance with the guidelines and stipulations set forth in the bid proposal form and, WHEREAS, offers to purchase in compliance with said guide- lines and stipulations have been made by the bidders indicated below, and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on April 27 , 1987 at 7: 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to accept bids for said structures and to sell and convey said structures owned by the City of Waterloo, Iowa to the successful bidders below, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and conveyance should be made as proposed. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as follows : 1 . The following described structures as described in published notice in the Waterloo Courier on April 14 , 1987 are not presently needed and will not be needed in the foreseeable future for municipal purposes and its ownership is serving no municipal purpose, and 2 . That the offer of Merle Gleason to purchase the home located at 3100 Ansborough Avenue for the sum of $100 . 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the home described below: Unplatted Waterloo West part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section Thir- ty-three ( 33 ) , Township Eighty-nine ( 89 ) Range Thirteen ( 13 ) commencing at a point in the West line of Ansborough Avenue One Hundred Forty-four and Four Tenths ( 144 . 4 ) feet North of a point Thirty-three ( 33 ) feet West of the Southeast corner of said section; thence North Eighty ( 80 ) feet; thence West Ninety-two and Sixty-five Hundredths ( 92 . 65 ) feet; thence South Eighty ( 80 ) feet, thence East Ninety-two and Sixty-five Hundredths ( 92 . 65 ) feet to the point of beginning. That the offer of Michael and Lynn Bowers to purchase the home located at 3026 Ansborough Avenue for the sum of $2 , 825 . 00 be, and it is hereby accepted for the home described below: That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section No. Thirty-three ( 33 ) , Township No. Eighty-nine ( 89 ) North, Range No. Thirteen ( 13 ) West of the Fifth ( 5th) Principal Meridian, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, bounded as follows: Beginning at a point in the West line of Ansborough Avenue which is Two Hundred Twenty-four and Four- Tenths ( 224 . 4 ) feet North of a point which is Thirty-three ( 33 ) feet West of the Southeast Corner of said Section; thence North along the West line of Ansborough Avenue a distance of Eighty ( 80 ) feet; thence West along a line which is parallel with the South line of said section a distance of Ninety-two and Sixty-five Hundredths ( 92 . 65 ) feet; thence South along a line which is parallel with the East line of said section a distance of Eighty ( 80 ) feet; thence East a distance of Ninety-two and Sixty-five Hundredths ( 92 . 65 ) feet to the place of beginning. McMahon to purchase the garage located at 2640 Ansborough Avenue for the sum of $580 . 00 Resolution No. 1987-185 Page 3 be, and it is hereby accepted for the garage described below: A part of the North Six and One-half ( 6-1/2 ) acres of the South Eight and One-half ( 8-1/2 ) acres of the East Twenty-five ( 25 ) acres of the North one-half of the Southeast Quarter of Section No. Thirty-three ( 33 ) , Township No. Eighty-nine ( 89 ) North, Range No. Thirteen ( 13 ) West of the Fifth Principal Meridian in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, bounded as follows: Beginning at the point of intersection of the West line of Ansborough Avenue with the South line of the said Six and One-half ( 6-1/2 ) acre tract; thence North along the West line of Ansborough Avenue a distance of One Hundred Six ( 106 ) feet, thence West at right angles to Ansborough Avenue a distance of Two Hundred Seventeen ( 217 ) feet; thence South parallel with the West line of Ansborough Avenue to the South line of the said Six and One-half ( 6-1/2 ) acre tract; thence East along the South line of the said Six and One-half ( 6-1/2 ) acre tract to the point of beginning.
