4' H RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM
• OF AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF WATERLOO AND
MOUNT VILLAGE RETIREMENT CENTER WITH REGARDS TO
c'Cc CONSIDERATION OF PAVEMENT OF LOUISE STREET IN
C CONJUNCTION WITH THE F.Y. 1989 STREET RECONSTRUCTION
CA 'Z PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo (the "City") a municipality of
the State of Iowa, will consider an F.Y. 1989 Street
Reconstruction Program and,
WHEREAS, the City in the past has authorized a
reconstruction program throughout the City of Waterloo without
assessments to the adjoining properties, and
WHREREAS, Mount Village Retirement Complex has approached
the City with a proposal for submission of an application to HUD
for a grant to construct 65 additional units of housing adjacent
to the present location, and
WHEREAS, the application for the HUD grant for the
construction of 65 additional units of housing for the elderly and
handicapped is dependent upon the City' s consideration of placing
paving, curb and gutter on Louise Street from the present entrance
to Mount Village and extending north to the intersection of
Fairview Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, will approve paving, curb and gutter for
Louise Street from the present entrance to Mount Village and
extending to Fairview Avenue in the F.Y. 1989 Street
Reconstruction Program contingent upon the approval of HUD for a
grant to construct 65 additional units of housing for the elderly
and handicapped adjacent to the present site of Mount Village be
adopted and subject to a public hearing at which formal approval
must take place.
Passed and adopted this 26th day of May, 1987.
