RESOLUTION MAKING ASSESSMENT FOR STOPPING OF FLOW OF
0 C WATER AND PREVENTION OF FURTHER DAMAGE AT 409 EAST 2ND
STREET.

• WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, did, as provided by law, notify by written notice
co ,the property owner of the premises known as 409 East Second Street

< to have the water flow stopped and further damage prevented, and

WHEREAS, the property owner failed to comply with the order
of the Board of Water Works, Trustees, as by law provided, and
H WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees proceed to have
the work done on the premises described as 409 East Second Street,
in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to comply with Ordinance No. 1118
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and
0 WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees filed with the
6-1 City Clerk on the 3rd day of August, 1987 , a report filing claim
for the stopping of water and preventing further damage at above
described premises and same meet all the requirements of the City
;;, ordinance and have been fully completed, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that the same report of the Board of Water Works Trustees be, and
the same is hereby, approved; that the work was done under and by
virtue hereby, accepted, and that the cost of said work is hereby
determined to be as follows, which amount can be assessed over a
ten year period against the property:
Allen L. and Sylvia A. Grote, Owners
409 East Second Street:
The southwesterly 30 feet of Lot No. 8 in Block No. 35 in the
Original Plat, on the East Side of the Cedar River, in the
City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Subject to a
perpetual easement for driveway purposes, over and across the
SE 95 ' of NE 4-1/2" of SW 1/2 of Lot 8 , Block 35 , Original
Plat, Waterloo, East Side of Cedar River;
Amount of Unpaid Assessment: $662. 50
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be, and are hereby,
assessed and levied as special tax and assessment against the
property improved, described as 409 East Second Street in the City
of Waterloo, Iowa, the amount of $662 .50 said assessment shall
bear interest from the date of levy of the assessment, viz:
August 3 , 1987, at the rate of twelve ( 12 ) percent per annum until
paid on all the unpaid amount of said assessment certified to the
County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is
hereby instructed to notify Allen L. and Sylvia A. Grote of said
property, accordingly and also instructed to certify said
assessment to the County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, to
be entered upon the tax list to be collected as other taxes, as
provided by law, and when collected to be credited to the Water
Works Fund of said City, and assessment to be made over a ten year
period.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of August, 1987 .
