RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SPECIAL PERMIT REQUEST OF JAMES
L. "PAT" ROOFF FOR A PROPOSED SALVAGE AND JUNK YARD.
WHEREAS, James L. "Pat" Rooff has proposed that the Council
of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, approve a special permit request
for a proposed salvage and junk yard to be generally located along
the north side of the Cedar River flood control levee and along
the west side of Dunham Place, and legally described as follows:
That parts of Lots Nos. Eleven ( 11 ) and Twelve ( 12 ) described
as beginning at the point of intersection of the Southerly
line of Water Street with the Southerly extension of the West
line of Dunham Place, thence Westerly along the Southerly
line of Water Street Three Hundred Nineteen and Six Tenths
( 319 , 6) feet, thence South Twenty-four ( 24) degrees one ( 1 )
minute Forty ( 40 ) seconds West to the River Front Improvement
Commission line, thence Southeasterly along said River Front
Improvement Commission line to the point of its intersection
with the Southerly extension of the Westerly line of Dunham
Place, thence North along said Southerly extension to the
place of beginning; all in Auditor' s Consolidated Plat,
except those parts of said Lot No. Eleven ( 11) conveyed to
the City of Waterloo, Iowa, by Quit Claim Deed in Town Lot
Deed Record 145 at page 90 and Warranty Deed in Town Lot Deed
Record 146 at page 8 and except those parts of said Lots Nos.
Eleven ( 11 ) and Twelve ( 12 ) conveyed to the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, by Warranty Deed in City Lot Deed Record 558 at page
713 thereof, of the records of Black Hawk County, Iowa.
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 6 , 1988 , at 7 : 00
p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers , Waterloo, Iowa, as provided by
law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on the proposal
to approve said above mentioned special permit request, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that said special
permit request should be approved as proposed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the special permit request for James
L. "Pat" Rooff for a proposed salvage and junk yard to be
generally located along the north side of the Cedar River flood
control levee and along the west side of Dunham Place, be and the
same is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of June, 1988 , and approved
by the Mayor this 8th day of June, 1988 .
