RESOLUTION NO. 2024-648
A RESOLUTION REJECTING THE BID OF K & W ELECTRIC,
INC., OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT
OF $514,894.00, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TERMINAL
SECURITY UPGRADES PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 5819,
IDOT CSVI GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking the Terminal Security Upgrades Project
to enhance security measures in alignment with Contract No. 5819 and funded in part by the
IDOT CSVI Grant; and
WHEREAS, K & W Electric, Inc., of Cedar Falls, Iowa submitted a bid in the amount
of $514,894.00 for said project; and
WHEREAS, after thorough review and evaluation, the bid submitted by K & W Electric,
Inc., does not meet the City's requirements/criteria for acceptance due to budgetary constraints;
and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and in accordance with applicable state
and local procurement laws to reject the bid from K & W Electric, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by K & W Electric, Inc., of Cedar Falls, Iowa, in the amount
of $514,894.00, be and is hereby rejected for the Terminal Security Upgrades Project, Contract
No. 5819.
2. The appropriate Airport officials are hereby authorized and directed to notify K & W
Electric, Inc. of the rejection of their bid and proceed with necessary actions to continue the bid
process in compliance with city policies and applicable grant requirements.
3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
