RESOLUTION NO. 2024-705
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY, OF DES MOINES,
IOWA, IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $148,640.03, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE GAS MAIN EXTENSION TO
SERVICE W.A.R.P. 4TH ADDITION, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo requires the extension of a gas main to adequately
service the W.A.R.P. 4th Addition, supporting new development and ensuring efficient energy
provision to the area; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, is a
recognized utility service provider capable of completing the necessary extension works; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been proposed, outlining the scope, responsibilities, and
financial considerations of the gas main extension, with an estimated total cost of $148,640.03;
and
WHEREAS, engaging in this agreement is in the best interest of the city to promote
economic development and accommodate new projects effectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company of Des Moines, Iowa, in the
estimated amount of $148,640.03 to service the W.A.R.P. 4th Addition is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa.
3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
