RESOLUTION NO. 2024-706
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY, OF DES MOINES,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $358,857.04, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH FURNISHING ELECTRIC SERVICE TO W.A.R.P. 4TH
ADDITION, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo seeks to ensure the provision of reliable electric service
to the W.A.R.P. 4th Addition to support current and future development in the area; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company, based in Des Moines, Iowa, has been
identified as the appropriate service provider to carry out the necessary installation and
connection works for electric service; and
WHEREAS, an agreement detailing the scope of work, cost, and terms has been
presented, with the total amount being $358,857.04; and
WHEREAS, engaging in this agreement is in the best interest of the city to promote
economic development and accommodate new projects effectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company of Des Moines, Iowa, in the
amount of $358,857.04 to furnish electric service to the W.A.R.P. 4th Addition is hereby
approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa.
3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
