RESOLUTION NO. 2024-707
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH
MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY, OF DES MOINES,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,011.18, FOR THE
INSTALLATION OF STREETLIGHTS FOR W.A.R.P. 4TH
ADDITION, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo recognizes the necessity of installing streetlights in the
W.A.R.P. 4th Addition to ensure public safety and visibility, enhancing the quality of life for
residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy Company of Des Moines, Iowa, possesses the
expertise and capability to execute the streetlight installation efficiently and effectively; and
WHEREAS, an agreement has been drafted, specifying the scope, terms, and financial
details for this installation, totaling $40,011.18; and
WHEREAS, entering into this agreement is essential for meeting the infrastructure needs
of the expanding W.A.R.P. 4th Addition, promoting development and community wellbeing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company of Des Moines, Iowa, in the
amount of $40,011.18 for the installation of streetlights for the W.A.R.P. 4th Addition is hereby
approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa.
3. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
