RESOLUTION NO. 2011-476
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF ABRAHAM
FUNCHESS OF JUNETEENTH COMMITTEE FOR A
VARIANCE TO ORDINANCE NO. 3094, NOISE
ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, Abraham Funchess of Juneteenth Committee is
requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on June 17, 2011,
from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in conjunction with Juneteenth event
to be held at Jubilee UMC Resource Center, 1621 East 4th Street,
including a PA system and live DJ, with recommendation and
approval of Chief of Police, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of the Ordinance
No. 3094, Noise Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, said Abraham Funchess of Juneteenth Committee has
made formal application for a variance effective June 17, 2011,
from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Abraham Funchess of
Juneteenth Committee for a variance to Ordinance No. 3094, Noise
Ordinance, on June 17, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in
conjunction with Juneteenth event to be held at Jubilee UMC
Resource Center, 1621 East 4th Street, including a PA system and
live DJ, be and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of June, 2011.
