RESOLUTION NO. 2024-727
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR
HUMANITY FOR CONSTRUCTING ONE SINGLE-FAMILY
HOME, WITH A TOTAL OF $5,000.00 INFILL HOUSING
GRANT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECU I'E SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, seeks to encourage the development of
affordable housing within the city limits through its Infill Housing Program; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is committed to constructing one
single-family home as part of its mission to provide decent, affordable housing opportunities for
low-income families; and
WHEREAS, the Development Agreement includes a grant of $5,000.00 to support the
infill housing project, enhancing accessibility to affordable housing among community residents;
and
WHEREAS, such development aligns with the City's strategic objectives to increase
housing options and improve neighborhood vitality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The Development Agreement with Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, providing
for the construction of a single-family home and including a $5,000.00 Infill Housing Grant, is
hereby approved.
2. The City agrees to provide a grant of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to Iowa
Heartland Habitat for Humanity under the terms outlined in the Development Agreement for the
purpose of infill housing development.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
document on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and approval.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of December 2024.
