RESOLUTION NO. 2024-731
A A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID TO
MACQUEEN OF CRESCO, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $3,198.98 PER UNIT FOR THE FIRE TURNOUT GEAR
REPLACEMENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo Fire Rescue Department requires the replacement of
outdated turnout gear to ensure the safety and operational effectiveness of its personnel; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo solicited bids for the 2025 Fire Turnout Gear
Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, MacQueen of Cresco, Iowa submitted the most responsible and responsive
bid with a price of $3,198.98 per unit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that MacQueen's bid meets the necessary
specifications and is in the best interest of the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by MacQueen of Cresco, Iowa, for the Fire Turnout Gear
Replacement Project at a unit cost of $3,198.98 is hereby accepted and approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute all necessary contract documents
related to the acceptance of this bid and any other documents necessary to effectuate the
purchase.
3. The Fire Chief, in conjunction with City procurement officials, shall oversee the
implementation of this contract to ensure specifications and deadlines are met.
4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval by
the City Council.
