RESOLUTION NO. 2024-716
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID TO D.W.
ZINSER COMPANY, INC., AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF CONTRACTUAL DOCUMENTS FOR DEMOLITION AND
SITE CLEARANCE SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has solicited bids for Demolition and Site Clearance
Services under Contract No. D-2024-10-02P for the properties located at 2127 E. 4th Street (the
site of the former Saint Mary's Church and School) and 123 E. Parker Street (the site of the
former Saint Mary's Villa); and
WHEREAS, D.W. Zinser Company, Inc., of Walford, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $339,900.00 which has been reviewed and determined to be the lowest responsible
bid; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance in
connection with these demolition and clearance services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by D.W. Zinser Company, Inc. in the amount of $339,900.00 for
Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract No. D-2024-10-02P, is hereby approved.
2. The contract, bond, and certificate of insurance presented by D.W. Zinser Company, Inc.
are hereby approved.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
4. This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
