RESOLUTION NO. 2025-033 A RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS FEBRUARY 3, 2025, FOR A REQUEST BY THE CITY OF WATERLOO TO VACATE AN 8-FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF LOTS 1 AND 2 AND THE 8-FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF LOTS 5 AND 6 OF WOODLAND KNOLLS ADDITION, NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH HACKETT ROAD AND OAKCREST DRIVE, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has submitted a request to vacate the 8-foot public utility easement along the east side of Lots 1 and 2 and the 8-foot public utility easement along the west side of Lots 5 and 6, located in Woodland Knolls Addition, north of the intersection of South Hackett Road and Oakcrest Drive; and WHEREAS, it is in the interest of public welfare to conduct a public hearing to consider the request and allow for public comment and discussion; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as follows: 1. The Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, shall meet in the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers at City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, at 5:30 p.m. on the 3rd day of February 2025, for the purpose of considering a request by the City of Waterloo to vacate an 8-foot public utility easement along the east side of Lots 1 and 2 and the 8-foot public utility easement along the west side of Lots 5 and 6 of Woodland Knolls Addition, north of the intersection of South Hackett Road and Oakcrest Drive. 2. During the public hearing, interested parties may express their views regarding the proposed project. 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing as required by law.
