RESOLUTION NO. 2025-034
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXCEPTION TO THE
CITY OF WATERLOO PURCHASING POLICY FOR
PURCHASING A 2022 FORD EXPLORER XLT 4X4 FOR THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT, TRI-COUNTY DRUG TASK FORCE,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,762.44 FROM ENTERPRISE FLEET
MANAGEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified a critical need for a 2022 Ford Explorer
XLT 4x4 for use by the Police Department, particularly within the Tri-County Drug Task Force,
to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, an exception to the standard City of Waterloo Purchasing Policy is
necessary to expedite this purchase and meet the immediate needs of the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Enterprise Fleet Management has offered the 2022 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4
at a competitive price of $35,762.44, meeting the department's specifications and budget
considerations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That an exception to the City of Waterloo Purchasing Policy is hereby authorized to
allow for the direct purchase of a 2022 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4 from Enterprise Fleet
Management for the use of the Police Department, Tri County Drug Task Force.
2. That the purchase amount shall not exceed $35,762.44.
