RESOLUTION NO. 2025-036
A RESOLUTION APPROVING COMPLETION OF PROJECT
AND RECOMMENDATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF WORK
FOR WORK PERFORMED BY VIETH CONSTRUCTION
CORPORATION, OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $67,927.76, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY
2024 CROSSROADS BOULEVARD. MEDIAN
IMPROVEMENT, CONTRACT NO. 1089, AND RECEIVE AND
FILE A TWO-YEAR MAINTENANCE BOND.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo entered into a contract with Vieth Construction
Corporation of Cedar Falls, Iowa, for the purposes of implementing the Crossroads Boulevard.
Median Improvement as part of the FY 2024 capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation has completed the work in accordance with
the approved plans and specifications for Contract No. 1089; and
WHEREAS, the total payment to be made to Vieth Construction Corporation for the
completion of said work amounts to $67,927.76; and
WHEREAS, a two-year maintenance bond has been received to ensure the quality and
durability of the work performed under the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The completion of the FY 2024 Crossroads Boulevard. Median Improvement, Contract
No. 1089, is hereby approved in the amount of $67,927.76.
2. The work performed by Vieth Construction Corporation, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, is
accepted.
3. The Finance Department is hereby authorized and directed to issue payment in the total
amount of $67,927.76 to Vieth Construction Corporation, upon completion of the final
inspection and verification that all contractual obligations are met.
4. The two-year maintenance bond provided by Vieth Construction Corporation is
received and filed, to commence upon the date of this resolution's passing, ensuring coverage of
any defects in materials or workmanship.
