RESOLUTION NO. 2025-039
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH TERRACON CONSULTANTS, INC., OF
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, TO PERFORM BACKFILLING
OBSERVATION AND SOIL COMPACTION TESTING
RELATED TO THE DEMOLITION AND BACKFILLING OF
THE SAINT MARY'S CHURCH AND SCHOOL SITE
LOCATED AT 2127 E. 4TH STREET AND SAINT MARY'S
VILLA AT 123 E. PARKER STREET, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY PLANNER TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified the need for professional services to
perform backfilling observation and soil compaction testing in conjunction with the demolition
and backfilling of the Saint Mary's Church and School site and Saint Mary's Villa; and
WHEREAS, Terracon Consultants, Inc., of Cedar Falls, Iowa, is qualified and
experienced in providing these services and has presented a proposal for such work; and
WHEREAS, engaging Terracon Consultants, Inc. ensures compliance with engineering
standards and enhances the safety and suitability of future site use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The Professional Services Agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc., for backfilling
observation and soil compaction testing at the specified properties is hereby approved.
2. The costs associated with these services shall be paid from designated city funds
allocated for site demolition and backfilling operations.
3. The City Planner is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.
