RESOLUTION NO. 2025-065 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY SKOGMAN HOMES, FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME VALUED AT $324,999.00, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3345 LINCOLNSHIRE ROAD AND LOCATED IN THE CITY LIMITS URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CLURA). WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has established a City Limits Urban Revitalization Area (CLURA) with the intent to stimulate residential growth and improve property values within specified urban zones; and WHEREAS, Skogman Homes has applied for tax exemptions concerning the construction of a new single-family home at 3345 Lincolnshire Road, legally described as (Lincolnshire Addition Lot 20), in accordance with CLURA program guidelines; and WHEREAS, the proposed construction, valued at $324,999.00, satisfies the eligibility requirements under the CLURA for tax exemption as a strategic move to promote urban revitalization; and WHEREAS, the development is expected to enhance the residential appeal of the area, contribute to property value appreciation, and support broader community and economic development; and WHEREAS, following a review process, the application has been determined to be in full compliance with applicable regulations and aligns with the objectives of the CLURA initiative; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as follows: 1. The request by Skogman Homes for tax exemptions on the construction of a new single-family home valued at $324,999.00 at 3345 Lincolnshire Road is hereby approved. 2. This approval is contingent upon compliance with all applicable codes and regulations throughout the completion of the renovations. 3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to certify a copy of this resolution and forward it to the Black Hawk County Assessor's Office to proceed with the tax exemption process in accordance with the Iowa Code. 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by the City Council. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of February 2025.
