RESOLUTION NO. 2025-067
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY JOSHUA
AND DAWN RANDALL, FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME
VALUED AT $568,212.00, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 131
SUNBIRD COURT AND LOCATED IN THE CITY LIMITS
URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CLURA).
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has designated a City Limits Urban Revitalization
Area (CLURA) to support residential development and stimulate property value enhancement
within its urban core; and
WHEREAS, Joshua and Dawn Randall have applied for tax exemptions concerning the
construction of a new single-family home at 131 Sunbird Court, pursuant to the CLURA
guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the new home construction project, valued at $568,212.00, meets the
eligibility criteria under CLURA, aligning with the initiative's objectives to support urban
revitalization; and
WHEREAS, the development is expected to enhance the residential appeal of the area,
contribute to property value appreciation, and support broader community and economic
development; and
WHEREAS, following a review process, the application has been determined to be in full
compliance with applicable regulations and aligns with the objectives of the CLURA initiative;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The request by Joshua and Dawn Randall for tax exemptions on the construction of a
new single-family home valued at $568,212.00 at 131 Sunbird Court is hereby approved.
2. This approval is contingent upon compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
throughout the completion of the renovations.
3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to certify a copy of this resolution and forward it to
the Black Hawk County Assessor's Office to proceed with the tax exemption process in
accordance with the Iowa Code.
4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by
the City Council.
