RESOLUTION NO. 2025-055 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY BARB AND ROBBIE HADAWAY, FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSE VALUED AT $547,000.00, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2050 ASHLAND AVENUE AND LOCATED IN THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CURA). WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has established a Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (CURA) to encourage the revitalization and redevelopment of eligible properties in accordance with established city policies; and WHEREAS, Barb and Robbie Hadaway as the owners of the property located at 2050 Ashland Avenue, and legally described as (Part Lot 13 Cushman Heights Par A Plat of Survey #2023-11158 Desc as Fol Beg at NW Cor of Lot 13 Th N 89 Deg 09 Min 05 Sec E 318.95 Ft Th S 00 Deg 38 Min 55 Min E 250 Ft to S Line of N 250 Ft Lot 13 Th S 89 Deg 09 Min 05 Sec W 317.62 Ft Th N 00 Deg 57 Min), have submitted a request for property tax exemptions on the construction of a new single-family home, in accordance with CURA guidelines; and WHEREAS, the proposed construction project carries a valuation of $547,000.00 and meets the criteria set forth under the CURA guidelines for tax exemption eligibility; and WHEREAS, these improvements are consistent with the goals and objectives of the CURA program, aiming to enhance property values, improve living conditions, and contribute to the overall economic development of the area; and WHEREAS, the application has been reviewed and found to be in compliance with the policies and requirements set forth by the CURA program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as follows: 1. The request from Barb and Robbie Hadaway for tax exemptions on the construction of a new single-family house valued at $547,000.00 at 2050 Ashland Avenue is hereby approved. 2. This approval is contingent upon compliance with all applicable codes and regulations throughout the completion of the renovations. 3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to certify a copy of this resolution and forward it to the Black Hawk County Assessor's Office to proceed with the tax exemption process in accordance with the Iowa Code. 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by the City Council. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of February 2025.
