RESOLUTION NO. 2025-056
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY ROBERT
ROQUET, FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME
VALUED AT $132,050.00, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT
3157 ROCKY ROAD AND LOCATED IN THE
CONSOLIDATED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CURA).
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has established a Consolidated Urban Revitalization
Area (CURA) to encourage the revitalization and redevelopment of eligible properties in
accordance with established city policies; and
WHEREAS, Robert Roquet, as the owner of the property located at 3157 Rocky Road,
and legally described as (A part of the North One-half of the Northeast Quarter of Section No.
Twenty-nine (29), in Township No. Eighty-nine (89) North, Range No. Twelve (12) West of the
Fifth (5th) Principal Meridian, in Black Hawk County, lowa, described as follows, to -wit:
Commencing at a point that is Three Hundred Thirty (330) feet South and Three Hundred Fifty-
two (352) feet West of the Northeast Corner of the Northeast Quarter of said Section thence
running South along a line that is parallel with the East line of said Section No. Twenty-nine (29)
a distance of Six Hundred Sixty (660) feet, thence West along a line that is parallel with the
North line of said Section a distance of One Hundred Twenty-eight (128) feet, thence North
along a line that is parallel with the East line of said Section a distance of Six Hundred Sixty
(660) feet thence East a distance of One Hundred Twenty-eight (128) feet to the point of
beginning), has submitted an application requesting tax exemptions for the construction of a new
single-family home in accordance with CURA program stipulations; and
WHEREAS, the planned construction of the single-family home is valued at
$132,050.00, fulfilling the CURA criteria for residential development eligible for tax relief; and
WHEREAS, these improvements are consistent with the goals and objectives of the
CURA program, aiming to enhance property values, improve living conditions, and contribute to
the overall economic development of the area; and
WHEREAS, the application has been reviewed and found to be in compliance with the
policies and requirements set forth by the CURA program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The request by Robert Roquet for tax exemptions on the construction of a new single-
family home, valued at $132,050.00 and situated at 3157 Rocky Road, is hereby approved.
2. This approval is contingent upon compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
throughout the completion of the renovations.
3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to certify a copy of this resolution and forward it to
the Black Hawk County Assessor's Office to proceed with the tax exemption process in
accordance with the Iowa Code.
4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by
the City Council.
