RESOLUTION NO. 2025-080
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID IN
PART TO D.W. ZINSER CO., INC, OF WALFORD, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $125,000.00, APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BOND, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE,
IN CONJUNCTION WITH DEMOLITION AND SITE
CLEARANCE SERVICES, CONTRACT NO. D-2025-01-03P
PART 1, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 118 SYCAMORE
STREET (WDC-OWNED PROPERTY, PARTIAL NON-RACM
DEMO, AND PARTIAL RACM DEMO), AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has solicited bids for Demolition and Site Clearance
Services as part of Contract No. D-2025-01-03P Part 1 for the property located at 118 Sycamore
Street, involving partial non -Regulated Asbestos Containing Material (non-RACM) demolition
and partial RACM demolition; and
WHEREAS, D.W. Zinser Co., Inc., of Walford, Iowa, submitted a qualified bid in the
amount of One Hundred Twenty -Five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00) to perform the necessary
services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to award Contract No. D-2025-01-03P
Part 1 to D.W. Zinser Co., Inc., based on their capacity to meet project specifications and
timelines;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by D.W. Zinser Co., Inc. in the amount of $125,000.00 is hereby
approved, and the award of Contract No. D-2025-01-03P Part 1 is confirmed.
2. The contract, bond, and certificate of insurance submitted by D.W. Zinser Co., Inc. are
approved, ensuring compliance with City requirements and adequate coverage for the scope of
work.
3. City officials and departments are directed to oversee and coordinate with D.W. Zinser
Co., Inc. to ensure the safe, timely, and compliant execution of the demolition and site clearance
activities.
4. The mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
