RESOLUTION NO. 2025-081
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF BID IN
PART TO LEHMAN TRUCKING & EXCAVATING INC., OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $29,164.00,
APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND, AND CERTIFICATE
OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH DEMOLITION
AND SITE CLEARANCE SERVICES, CONTRACT NO. D-
2025-01-03P PART 2, FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 309 E.
2ND STREET AND 1103 COMMERCIAL STREET, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS..
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has solicited bids for Demolition and Site Clearance
Services as part of Contract No. D-2025-01-03P Part 2 for properties located at 309 E. 2nd Street
and 1103 Commercial Street; and
WHEREAS, Lehman Trucking & Excavating Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa, has submitted the
lowest responsible bid in the amount of Twenty -Nine Thousand One Hundred Sixty -Four Dollars
($29,164.00) to undertake the required services; and
WHEREAS, approval of the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance is necessary to
ensure all legal and financial requirements are met, allowing the project to proceed safely and
efficiently; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it appropriate to award Contract No. D-2025-01-03P
Part 2 to Lehman Trucking & Excavating Inc., based on their qualifications and readiness to
perform the demolition and site clearance services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by Lehman Trucking & Excavating Inc. in the amount of
$29,164.00 is hereby approved, and the award of Contract No. D-2025-01-03P Part 2 is
confirmed.
2. The contract, bond, and certificate of insurance provided by Lehman Trucking &
Excavating Inc. are approved, ensuring legal compliance and appropriate coverage for the
project.
3. City officials and relevant departments shall oversee and coordinate with Lehman
Trucking & Excavating Inc. to ensure that demolition and site clearance activities are executed in
accordance with plans, safety standards, and project timelines.
4. The mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
