RESOLUTION NO. 2025-083
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO LEHMAN
TRUCKING & EXCAVATING INC., OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $67,341.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BOND,
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
DEMOLITION AND SITE CLEARANCE SERVICES, CONTRACT
NO. D-2025-01-05P, FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 1335
MULBERRY STREET, 724 LINCOLN STREET, 418 OAK AVENUE,
110 CHESTNUT STREET, AND 318 BRATNOBER STREET, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has determined that it is in
the best interest of the City and its residents to proceed with Demolition and Site Clearance
Services for the properties located at 1335 Mulberry Street, 724 Lincoln Street, 418 Oak Avenue,
110 Chestnut Street, and 318 Bratnober Street; and
WHEREAS, bids for such services have been received and reviewed by the appropriate
City departments, and it has been recommended that the bid by Lehman Trucking & Excavating
Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa, in the amount of $67,341.00, be accepted as the lowest responsible bid;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has examined and does
hereby approve the Contract, Bond, and Certificate of Insurance furnished by Lehman Trucking
& Excavating Inc., in conjunction with said Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract
No. D-2025-01-05P;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid from Lehman Trucking & Excavating Inc., of Waterloo, Iowa, in the amount
of $67,341.00, for Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract No. D-2025-01-05P, is
hereby approved.
2. The Contract, Bond, and Certificate of Insurance for said services are hereby approved.
3. City officials and departments are directed to oversee and coordinate with D.W. Zinser
Co., Inc. to ensure the safe, timely, and compliant execution of the demolition and site clearance
activities.
4. The mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
