RESOLUTION NO. 2025-090
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH TERRACON CONSULTANTS, INC., OF
CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, TO PERFORM DEMOLITION
OBSERVATION, ASBESTOS CONSULTING SERVICES, AND
AIR MONITORING RELATED TO THE DEMOLITION OF
THE SAINT MARY'S CHURCH AND SCHOOL SITE
LOCATED AT 2127 E. 4TH STREET AND SAINT MARY'S
VILLA AT 123 E. PARKER STREET, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY PLANNER TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, acknowledges the necessity
for professional oversight in the demolition activities at Saint Mary's Church and School site at
2127 E. 4th Street, and Saint Mary's Villa at 123 E. Parker Street; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to conduct professional demolition observation, asbestos
consulting services, and air monitoring to ensure safety and regulatory compliance during the
demolition process; and
WHEREAS, Terracon Consultants, Inc., based in Cedar Falls, Iowa, has been identified
as a proficient provider of these specialized services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and approved this Professional Services
Agreement to support the safe and compliant completion of the demolition activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The Professional Services Agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc., of Cedar Falls,
Iowa, for demolition observation, asbestos consulting services, and air monitoring is hereby
approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
