RESOLUTION NO. 2025-076
A RESOLUTION APPROVING FYE 2025 BUDGET
AMENDMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has prepared a Budget Amendment for the Fiscal Year
Ending June 30, 2025, to address changes in revenue and expenditure projections as well as
unanticipated financial needs and opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Budget Amendment has been reviewed and discussed by city
management and financial advisors to ensure accuracy, compliance with municipal financial
policies, and alignment with the City's strategic initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Iowa state law requires that any amendments to the budget be approved by
City Council following a public hearing to allow for transparency and public input on municipal
financial planning; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed Budget Amendment was duly held, with
notice published in accordance with state requirements, allowing for community engagement and
comment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves the FYE 2025 Budget Amendment, making the
necessary adjustments to revenues and expenditures as specified in the documentation presented
during the public hearing.
2. The Finance Director is instructed to update the City's financial records to reflect the
approved Budget Amendment, ensuring that all departmental budgets and financial operations
are adjusted accordingly to comply with the amendment.
3. The City Council and Chief Financial Officer will continue to monitor the City's
financial status throughout the fiscal year to manage expenditures effectively and respond to
further financial changes or opportunities that may arise.
4. Appropriate documents related to the budget amendment shall be filed with state and
local authorities as required by law.
